Why can’t I sell my home “as is”? 
Leaving your home in “as is” condition helps sell your competition.  Buyers do not want to feel as though they are visiting in your home. They need to see themselves living in the home. Fresh paint, neural decor, and correct furniture placement all help to create a buying environment.

Why can’t I stage my home  myself?
You may be the best decorator in the world but you have spent hours decorating your home to suit your own taste. You are personally connected to the home and it’s difficult to view it objectively, with “buyer’s eyes”.  Depersonalizing a home is hard for most homeowners to do.  At Smart Move Design we have been trained to create a look that will appeal to all buyers who view your home. But if you are the do-it-yourself type, Smart Move Design can still help by meeting with you and creating a detailed report of all of the actions that we would take to transform your home.

Why is Staging a Vacant Home Important?
Only 10% of buyers can actually visualize a home’s potential. Some buyers walk into an empty room and say, “I wonder what this room is for.” Staging a vacant home gives buyers reference points for size and scale of furniture and enables them to see the potential in each room. When a home is empty, buyers focus on any negative details. Home Staging and Redesign for occupied homes uses what you already have along with some key accessory items to give buyers an “I’d love to live here” connection to your home. Depending on your budget this can include furniture placement, redesign of rooms and accessories, organizing, packing, shopping, photography, and more. 

Having a vacant home professionally staged gives the empty home that “model home” look and brings a warm, open, and comfortable feel to the space. This gives the buyers a frame of reference for furniture placement and fuels their imagination for the possibilities the home can offer.  It includes a thorough evaluation, measurements, furniture rental, delivery and set up, accessorizing, photography and marketing tools.
